You Know What I Hate? Good Shows Getting Canceled.

Some of the best shows of all time were canceled before their first season ended. And because there's no justice in this world, the most mediocre shows of all time take their place and go on for many seasons. For instance, Firefly. A great show with wonderful writing and characterization, never could make it on a network, let alone FOX. Nathan Fillion's more recent show, Castle, has been on for three seasons so far. It's not bad, but it's in the mediocre camp. It stays on television because it's a cop show and it's one of those genres that people can watch week after week and not really need to invest.
Already this season we have some hits and misses, and getting into some of these shows is incredibly saddening. I decided to write this article because I caught The Good Guys a few days ago. Show's created by Matt Nix, the guy who brought us Burn Notice, and it's basically like that except with the comedy button pushed instead of the badass spy drama button. It stars Colin Hanks as the promising young cop, paired with Bradley Whitford, who is like either Starsky or Hutch. It's a hilarious show, and I'd love to watch and enjoy it. However, no one watches it and it's almost certainly going to be canceled by the end of the season.
All I hope is that Matt Nix takes it to another network, like Burn Notice's USA Network or something, just so we can get more of it. It's one of the best and funniest shows out there right now.
